PCM AND Organisms

In order to retain the quality and usability of plants and living organisms, conditions such as temperature and temperature stability play a vital role. Furthermore, selecting the right tools will provide you with optimal control over that. Be sure to have full control of the storage and transport elements, in all conditions.

Organisms

Developments

Every day, various ‘living’ products are transported and stored. Take, for instance, micro-organisms for organic pest control, worms as fish feed and stunning corals for aquariums. To keep these living products alive the right, stable ambient conditions are crucial.

Take, for example, temperature. Coral species are living animals; naturally used to a certain water temperature within a limited range. With Phase Change Material you ensure a specific, stable temperature range. Moreover, you can provide well-insulated packaging to protect your fragile products for even longer against fluctuating external conditions.

PCM

Advantages of Phase Change Material

High energy storage

The thermal storage is highest around the solidification/melting point

Temperature Stability

Remains at the temperature of the melting point until PCM completely changes phase

Accurately determined

By adapting the recipe according to proven standards

Cooling or heating without an external source

No on-site (electrical) cooling or heating required

Reliable solutions

Constant, proven effectiveness for vital sectors, among others

Sustainable

Extended use of renewable energy through storage and reuse.

Solutions

PCM for the transportation of living organisms

As a rule, living organisms are most likely to survive above zero degrees. As such PCM solutions within this sector are rarely provided at low temperatures. The most popular solutions utilised by our clients within this sector are Phase Change Material with a solidification point at +22 °C and +5 °C.

Subbranches Organisms

By organisms we mean everything living, for instance, freshly-picked flowers, insects used for pest control or vibrant coral. If these become too warm or cold you run the risk they will not survive their storage or transportation, or will lessen in quality.
